What I Can Offer You

My chosen approach to counselling is called Person Centred therapy, which was developed by Carl Rogers in the 1940s.

Whilst many of us may not be blessed with living in a nurturing environment, Rogers believed that the therapeutic relationship could offer individuals such a space; a space that fosters a genuine relationship and in which the counsellor offers warmth, understanding and acceptance.
A safe place for clients to reflect, explore and develop personal growth.

So this is how I like to work. My aim is to facilitate such a relationship between us, so that you are able to explore your issues, reflect on your experiences and tap into your infinite resourcefulness to help you make choices and decisions that are right for you.

I always work with what my clients bring to me, believing each person to have issues that are very personal to them. However, below are examples of some areas I have explored with clients:

  • Feeling down – Unhappiness – Loneliness
  • Anxiety – Depression – Anger – Low Self-esteem
  • Panic Attacks – Relationship Issues – Loss and Bereavement
  • Conflict at Work or Home – Dealing with Abuse – Trauma
